আদ্দেক মানুষ শুয়ে পড়লো।
ছেলেদের খেলার আগেই
ভারতের মেয়েদের কৃতিত্ব বাড়লো।
স্মৃতি মান্ধানা আর শেফালি ভার্মা
ছেলেখেলা করলো প্রোটিয়াদের বোলিং নিয়ে।
মেয়েদের টেস্ট ক্রিকেটে প্রথম দিন খেলা শেষ হলো
সর্বোচ্চ রানের রেকর্ড দিয়ে।
মেয়েদের টেস্ট ক্রিকেটে কোনও এক দিনে
এ দিনের পাঁচশো পঁচিশ রানই সর্বোচ্চ।
শেফালির দুশো পাঁচ রান
তারও টেস্ট ক্রিকেট কেরিযারে সর্বোচ্চ।
তবে এই ইনিংসে শেফালিদের

His presence wraps us, heart to fill.

A father’s love is boundless bliss.
He teaches strength, he shows us grace,
With patience worn upon his face.

For all of time, eternally, it should be.

বিজ্ঞানী ডক্টর অভিজিৎ বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়
নানা পরীক্ষা নিরিক্ষা করেন খাবার নিয়ে ।
নিজে রান্না করতেও ভালবাসেন
তাঁর উদ্ভাবনি মনের চিন্তা দিয়ে ।
তিনি কয়েকটি গ্রীষ্মকালীণ খাবারের
রেসিপি বানিয়েছেন ।
মেক্সিকান-ইশ-অরচাতা
প্রথম খাবারটির নাম দিয়েছেন ।
করতে হবে এক কাপ সুগন্ধি চাল,
আর আধ কাপ আমন্ডের টুকরো দিয়ে ।
ব্লেন্ড করতে হবে এক ইন্চি দারচিনি ও
তিন কাপ ঠান্ডা জল মিশিয়ে ।
পরে সেই ব্লেন্ডারটি সারা রাত
ঠান্ডা করতে হবে ।
সকালে সেই মিশ্রনটি দেড় কাপ দুধের সঙ্গে
খানিকটা চিনি বা মিষ্টি মেশাতে হবে ।
সঙ্গে গোলাপ জল ও
ভ্যানিলা এসেন্স মেশাতে হবে ।
সেটি ছেঁকে নিয়ে মেক্সিকান-ইশ-অরচাতা
এভাবেই তৈরী হয়ে যাবে ।
পরের পদটি বানানো যায়
পিচ ফল বা নেক্সটারিন ব্যবহার করে ।
পিচ ফল না পেলে
পাকা মিষ্টি আমও চলতে পারে।
এ পদটির নাম
ভিয়েতনামিজ-ইন্সপায়ার্ড ম্যাঙ্গো টি।
গ্রীষ্মের দাবদাহের মধ্যে
চায়ের জায়গায় ব্যবহার করা যায় এটি।
খোসা ছাড়িয়ে ছোট ছোট করে
আম কেটে নিতে হবে ।
পরে সেটি নরম করতে অল্প আঁচে
সাত আট মিনিট গরম করতে হবে ।
একটি আলাদা পাত্রে ফোটাতে হবে
দুটি টি ব্যাগ জল দিয়ে ।
পরে আগে করা আমের শাঁশ
মেশাতে হবে ওই চায়ে ।
তারপর দু চিমটে গোলমরিচের গুঁড়ো
দিলেই তৈরী হবে পদটি ।
ঠান্ডা করে পরিবেশন করতে পারেন
ভিয়েতনামিজ-ইন্সপায়ার্ড ম্যাঙ্গো টি ।
আরেকটি টেস্টি রেসিপির নাম
কিউকামবার ওয়াটার মরোক্কান-স্টাইল ।
এ পদটির উদ্ভাবন যে মরোক্কো কিনা
সেটি বলা মুশ্কিল ।
সুখাদ্যটি করতে ঠান্ডা জল
সাত-আট কাপ নিতে হবে ।
একটি শশা সরু সরু করে কেটে
তার মধ্যে মিশিয়ে দিতে হবে ।
মিশ্রনটি তারপর রেফ্রিজেটরে
দু তিন ঘন্টা রাখতে হবে ।
বার করে মরোক্কান-স্টাইল কিউকামবার ওয়াটার
পরিবেশন করা যাবে ।

On this day, the world takes heed,
To cherish Earth, in word and deed.
From mountains high to oceans deep,
A solemn promise we must keep.
The forests lush, the air so clear,
The creatures wild, both far and near,
Depend on us, their guardians true,
To shield their homes, to start anew.
With every breath the trees bestow,
And rivers’ dance in gentle flow,
The Earth’s soft whisper, can you hear?
A plea for care, both loud and clear.
The plastic tides, the skies once blue,
Now bear the scars of what we do.
Yet hope remains in hearts that strive,
To keep this precious world alive.
Each seed we plant, each tree we grow,
A step towards the light we know.
In unity, our strength is found,
To heal the Earth, to mend the ground.
The children’s laughter in the breeze,
A future bright among the trees.
Their dreams of green, of skies un-grey,
Depend on choices made today.
So let us vow on this fine day,
To walk with care, to find the way.
For Earth’s kind heart, a gift so rare,
Deserves our love, our utmost care.
With every dawn, a chance to make,
A world that’s whole, for all our sake.
The Earth’s gentle whisper calls,
For one and all, to break the walls.
Of apathy, and turn to see,
The beauty in our symphony.
Together, we can write the song,
Of Earth’s revival, pure and strong.
Let’s lift our voices, loud and true,
For Mother Earth, in green and blue.
On this World Environment Day,

ছোট্ট অভিজিতের লাগত ভালো
প্রখর রোদের তেজ ।
সেলাম ঠুকতো সূর্যদেবকে
পোয়াতো রোদের আমেজ ।
কালবৈশাখীর ঝড় শুরু হয়
একটু পরেই বৃষ্টি ।
তার সঙ্গে সঙ্গ দেয়
নানান অনাসৃষ্টি ।
জল বিহনে শুকনো মাটির
তৃষ্ণার্ত ডাক শুনে ।
বৃষ্টি তখন ভেজায় তাকে
খেলে আপন মনে ।
দমকা হাওয়ায় মেঘেরা পালায়
অন্য দিকে ভেসে ।
বৃষ্টি থামে, চারিদিক ভরে
ফরসা আলো এসে ।
তৃষ্ণার্ত মাটি শুঁশে নেয় জল
অনেকদিন পর তা পেয়ে ।
সোঁদা গন্ধে ভরে চারিদিক
মাতাল বাতাস নিয়ে ।
ওই সব ছবি মনের আকাশে
আজও জ্বলজ্বল করে ।
সোঁদা গন্ধের সুঘ্রাণ যেন পাই
আছে সে মনের গভীরে ।
আরেকটা স্মৃতি, আরেকটা ছবি
মনের পর্দায় দেখতে পাই ।
ঝড়ের মধ্যে ছুটছি আমি
বাতাবী লেবুর বাগান পেরিয়ে যাই ।
ভারী ভারী বাতাবী লেবু
ছিটকে পরছে এদিক ওদিক ।
ঝড়বৃষ্টির হাত থেকে বাঁচতে
ছুটছি আমি দিকবিদিক ।
একটু পরেই ঝড় থেমে যায়
আমিও ছুটি পিছন পানে ।
বাতাবী লেবু আর আম কুড়োনোর মজা
আজও পাই মনে মনে ।
সেই কাঁচা মিঠে আম কেটে
লঙ্কা, চাট মশলা আর কাসুন্দি দিয়ে ,
জিভে জল আসে আজও
সেই সব সুখস্মৃতি ভাবতে গিয়ে ।
