In Mumbai’s heart, by the Arabian Sea,

    A grand procession, a jubilee,

    Ganesha, the deity so revered,

In Mumbai’s streets, his presence steered.

    The Arrival:

Amidst beats of drums and cymbals’ clang,

Ganesha arrives with a joyful gang,

Adorned in colors, vibrant and bold,

A sight to behold, a story untold.

    Mumbai’s Streets Alive:

Through bustling lanes, the idols sway,

In a sea of people, they make their way,

Dholki rhythms, a chorus of song,

In devotion’s embrace, they all belong.

    Pandal Magic Unveiled:

    Pandals adorned, with artistic flair,

A feast for the eyes, beyond compare,

From traditional to modern, they stand tall,

In every pandal, a mesmerizing thrall.

    Prayers and Offerings:

    Devotees flock with hearts aglow,

To seek Ganesha’s blessings, they bow low,

With flowers, sweets, and fervent prayers,

They cast away their worldly cares.

    Unity in Diversity:

In this city of dreams, diverse and vast,

    Ganesha’s festival unites them fast,

Irrespective of caste, creed, or name,

In devotion, they’re all the same.

    Ten Days of Joy:

From the first day’s welcome cheer,

To the tenth day’s farewell tear,

    The city dances in jubilation,

    In Ganesha’s divine celebration.

    The Visarjan:

On the final day, a solemn rite,

Ganesha takes his leave, out of sight,

    Amidst tears and heartfelt adieu,

He returns to the sea, like morning dew.

    Promise of Return:

With a promise to return next year,

In every heart, Ganesha is near,

A festival of faith, love, and cheer,

    Mumbai’s Ganesha, precious and dear.

In Mumbai’s heart, by the sea so vast,

    Ganesha’s festival, a joyous blast,

A celebration of culture and devotion,

In every heart, a heartfelt emotion.

Mumbai’s grand Ganesha gala, we sing,

To the Lord of Beginnings, we humbly bring,

In this city’s spirit, forever enthralled,

    Ganesha’s blessings, on us all.

The Triumph of the Mother Within

In the various places in the world

Where women endure disrespect, their stories unfold,

These women, each one, someone’s sister or kin,

A mother or a wife, in a world they have been.

We worship mothers, in rituals and song,

    Durga, Kali, Lakshmi, Saraswati, strong,

Yet sometimes, within a mother’s core,

Lies a pain that’s too deep to ignore.

Cast aside, as if a beggar in the street,

Durga, the mother, in her throne, we seat,

But what does Mother Durga seek to find,

A thought that lingers in every mind.

She longs for the end of the mother’s plight,

To banish the darkness, to bring forth the light,

In the hearts of all, let compassion reign,

For every mother’s sacrifice, their silent pain.

Let us break the chains of disdain and despair,

Celebrate every mother with love and care,

For within each woman, the mother resides,

In unity and respect, her strength abides.

No more shall mothers face unjust disdain,

As Durga sits high, let her messages remain,

In the triumph of the mother within, we’ll see,

A world where love and respect forever will be.

Loknath Baba, the Sage of Serenity

In lands where whispers of wisdom soar,

There lived a sage we deeply adore,

Loknath Baba, a beacon of light,

Guiding souls through the darkest of night.

    Beneath the banyan’s ancient shade,

He sat in peace, his mind unsawed,

With eyes that held the universe’s grace,

He’d welcome seekers to his sacred space.

Through trials and tribulations, he’d trod,

A mystic, a saint, a servant of God,

In the temple of silence, his soul did dwell,

A living testament to the tales he’d tell.

With matted hair and saffron robe,

He walked the path that few dare probe,

Teaching the way to inner peace,

To let life’s transient sorrows cease.

His words like rivers of nectar flowed,

With love and compassion, his heart bestowed,

To all who sought his wisdom’s stream,

He was the guardian of their dream.

In devotion, his disciples gathered ’round,

In his presence, solace was found,

For Loknath Baba, in his serene grace,

Taught that love’s the ultimate embrace.

Though he left this world, his spirit abides,

In the hearts of those who, by his side,

Learned the lessons of love and truth,

From Loknath Baba, the sage of youth.

    The gratitude towards Manna Dey

    Audio File:

In the realm of songs, like a daily ritual,

Manna De, the singer, had his abode in Bengal’s capital.

But one day, abruptly, his song came to a halt,

As an unbearable pain surged through his heart’s vault.

A call was made to Dr. Devi Sheth,

Who prescribed an immediate medical feat.

    Manna De was swiftly sent,

To the hospital, where his health would be lent.

Accompanied by a loved one, he made his way,

To the hospital gate, where a crowd did sway.

As he advanced, he grasped the situation,

Hospital staff lined up in anticipation.

Dr. Sheth received word of their arrival,

Everyone welcomed them with great revival.

Manna De was overwhelmed by this show,

In this heartfelt welcome, emotions did flow.

    Manna De, somewhat unprepared,

    Responded with emotions bared.

Tears of joy from his eyes did swell,

As they hurried him to the hospital cell.

At the gate, it became clear to see,

No outsiders, just the hospital staff, you see.

Dr. Sheth received the news with grace,

All had gathered in this welcoming embrace.

Tests were run, and results did come,

Overall, they showed a healthy sum.

Manna De’s health was on the rise,

    Much to everyone’s great surprise.

Dr. Sheth addressed Manna De with care,

Saying, “You’re now in perfect repair.

You can leave today, my dear friend,

But take your medications without an end.”

Manna De was elated and said with glee,

“Thank you, doctor, I feel so free.

Please send the bill my way,

And write a release certificate today.”

A lengthy bill arrived without delay,

Listing charges for every item on display.

But amidst the charges, what stood clear,

Was the “zero occupancy” they held dear.

Manna De called Dr. Sheth aside,

“What’s this bill? Something seems awry!”

“Sir, your song has been my lifelong guide,

From childhood to adulthood,” he confided.

“In your songs of joy, I’ve taken flight,

And in your songs of sorrow, felt the plight.

So, serving the one who brought me delight,

Has brought joy to my heart, day and night.”

Manna De hugged Dr. Sheth with care,

No words escaped, just a silent prayer.

In his heart, he thought with grace,

Of the love he’d found in this sacred place.

In the end, as they held each other tight,

Manna De’s gratitude took its flight.

For the limitless love he’d found,

In the melody of life’s resounding sound.
