একটি শিশু বড় হয়

স্বপ্নে দেখে নানান ছবি
সে তার ছোট্ট ভুবনে।
সবাই বলে, পড়াশুনা করে বড় হয়ে
ভাল চাকরি পেতে হবে।
তবেই হবে সার্থক জীবন
ভাল রোজগার করতে হবে।
ছোট্ট শিশু বড় হয়
পৌঁছোয় সে কৈশোরে।
পড়াশুনা, থেলাধুলা আর
তার স্বপ্ন লালান করে।
বড়রা বলে- পড়াশুনা করো, বড় হও
অন্য সবকিছু তোমার অবসরে।
নইলে যে ভবিষ্যত গন্ডগোল
ভাল চাকরি আর রোজগার অন্ধকারে।
ব্রাহ্মণ পরিবারে জন্ম তার
দেখতে সুন্দর, সুঠাম তার সাস্হ্য।
বাবার চাকরি বি এস এন এল-এ
মা সংসার সামলাতেই ব্যস্ত।
ছোটবেলায় দিন কেটেছে
পশ্চিম বাংলার বাইরে।
ইডলি-দোসা-উপমা খেয়ে

মন দিল সে গ্রাজুয়েসনে পড়াতেই।
ভর্তি হলো সে আর্কিটেকচার নিয়ে

মনটা মাঝে মাঝে ব্যাকুল হয় যে।
