In the night, her power proclaimed,
Seventh of Navadurga’s divine might,
Destroyer of darkness, in her sight.
Maa Kali and Maa Kalaratri, oft intertwined,
Yet unique forces, by some defined,
Worshipped in Navaratri’s sacred light,
Her presence invokes awe, pure and bright.
Fiercest of mothers, with power untold,
Demons and spirits, from her presence fold,
The destroyer of evil, darkness, and despair,
Upon her arrival, they flee in the air.
Saudhikagama’s wisdom, in Orissa’s lore,
Maa Kalaratri, the night’s divine chore,
Crown chakra’s grace, her blessing’s sign,
Knowledge, power, wealth, in her design.
Shubankari, the auspicious and grand,
Fearless devotion, by her command,
To her devotees, she offers might,
Maa Kalaratri, fierce in the night’s gentle light.
Maa Kalaratri, fierce in the silent night’s embrace,
Her form invokes awe, in every sacred space,
In the realm of darkness, she firmly stands,
Guiding souls toward the inner lands.
Her name, Shubankari, auspicious and divine,
Bestowing blessings, her radiant sign,
With fearless devotion, hearts alight,
She banishes darkness, in her gentle night.
The crown chakra’s grace, her gateway’s key,
Unlocks knowledge, power, wealth, for all to see,
Maa Kalaratri’s presence, a fierce and mighty force,
Guiding us through night’s journey, on our divine course.

কালরাত্রি একজন হিন্দু দেবী। তিনি নবদুর্গার অন্যতম এবং দেবী দুর্গার সপ্তম শক্তি।
কালরাত্রি ভীষণদর্শনা দেবী। তার গায়ের রং ঘন অন্ধকারের মতো কালো। তিনি এলোকেশিণী। তার গলায় বজ্রের মালা দোলে। তিনি ত্রিনয়না এবং তার চোখগুলি ব্রহ্মাণ্ডের মতো গোলাকার। তার নিঃশ্বাস প্রশ্বাসের সঙ্গে ভয়ংকর অগ্নিশিখা নির্গত হয়। কালরাত্রির বাহন গর্দভ বা গাধা। তিনি চতুর্ভূজা; তার চার হাতে বর ও অভয়মুদ্রা এবং খড়্গ ও লোহার কাঁটা রয়েছে। কালরাত্রির রূপ ভয়ংকর হলেও তিনি শুভফলের দেবী। তার অপর নাম শুভঙ্করিণী।
হিন্দুদের বিশ্বাস করেন, কালরাত্রি দুষ্টের দমন করেন, গ্রহের বাধা দূর করেন এবং ভক্তদের আগুন, জল, জন্তুজানোয়ার, শত্রু ও রাত্রির ভয় থেকে মুক্ত করেন। এমন বিশ্বাস আছে, কালরাত্রির উপাসক তাকে স্মরণ করলেই দৈত্য, দানব, রাক্ষস, ভূত ও প্রেত পালিয়ে যায়।
কালরাত্রি দুর্গাপূজার সপ্তম দিনে পূজিত হন। শাক্ত শাস্ত্রানুযায়ী, সেই দিন সাধকের মন সহস্রার চক্রে অবস্থান করে। তাঁর জন্য ব্রহ্মাণ্ডের সকল সিদ্ধির দ্বার অবারিত হয়ে যায়। এই চক্রে অবস্থিত সাধকের মন সম্পূর্ণভাবে মাতা কালরাত্রির স্বরূপে অবস্থান করে। তাঁর সাক্ষাৎ পেলে সাধক মহাপুণ্যের ভাগী হন। তাঁর সমস্ত পাপ ও বাধাবিঘ্ন নাশ হয় এবং তিনি অক্ষয় পুণ্যধাম প্রাপ্ত হন।

স্কন্দমাতা হল মহাদেবীর নবদুর্গার রূপগুলিরমধ্যে পঞ্চম। তার নাম স্কন্দ থেকে এসেছে, স্কন্দ যুদ্ধ দেবতা কার্তিকেয়ের একটি বিকল্প নাম এবং মাতা , যার অর্থ মা। নবদুর্গার একজন হিসেবে স্কন্দমাতার পূজা নবরাত্রির পঞ্চম দিনে হয়।
স্কন্দমাতা চার-বাহু, তিন-চোখযুক্ত এবং সিংহের উপর চড়ে। তার একটি হাত বরাভয় মুদ্রার অবস্থানে রয়েছে এবং অন্যটি তার পুত্র স্কন্দের শিশু রূপকে তার কোলে ধারণ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। তার বাকী দুটি হাতে সাধারণত পদ্ম ফুল ধরে থাকতে দেখা যায়। তিনি হালকা রঙের, এবং প্রায়শই তাকে পদ্মের উপর উপবিষ্ট দেখা যায়।
এটা বিশ্বাস করা হয় যে তিনি ভক্তদের পরিত্রাণ, শক্তি, সমৃদ্ধি এবং ধন দিয়ে পুরস্কৃত করেন। তিনি নিরক্ষরকেও জ্ঞানের সাগর দিতে পারেন যদি সে তার পূজা করে। স্কন্দমাতা যিনি সূর্যের তেজের অধিকারী, তাঁর ভক্তদের সমস্ত ইচ্ছা পূরণ করেন। যে তার প্রতি নিঃস্বার্থভাবে নিবেদিত, সে জীবনের সমস্ত কৃতিত্ব এবং ধন অর্জন করে। স্কন্দমাতার আরাধনা একজন ভক্তের হৃদয়কে পরিশুদ্ধ করে।
তার পূজা করার সময়, ভক্তের তার ইন্দ্রিয় এবং মনের উপর নিরঙ্কুশ নিয়ন্ত্রণ থাকা উচিত। তার উচিত নিজেকে জাগতিক বন্ধন থেকে মুক্ত করে একমুখী ভক্তির সাথে তার পূজা করা। যখন ভক্ত তার পূজা করে, তখন তার কোলে থাকা পুত্র ভগবান স্কন্দ স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে পূজা পেয়ে যান। এইভাবে, ভক্ত ভগবান স্কন্দের কৃপা সহ স্কন্দমাতার কৃপা একসঙ্গে পেয়ে যান।
যদি একজন ভক্ত তার স্বার্থহীনতার উপাসনা করেন, মা তাদের শক্তি এবং সমৃদ্ধি দিয়ে আশীর্বাদ করেন। স্কন্দমাতার উপাসনাকারী ভক্তরা ঐশ্বরিক মহিমায় জ্বলজ্বল করেন। তার উপাসনা পরিণামে পরিত্রাণের সহায়ক। তিনি “আগুনের দেবী” নামে পরিচিত।

A tale of Gods’ anger, with a warrior’s sound,
Riding on a lion, she conquered the dark,
An annual Durga Puja, her victory’s mark.
Devi-Bhagavata Purana, her story unfurls,
In Devi Mahatmyam, her valor whirls,
Sage Markandeya’s words in ancient verse,
Her divine power, the universe immersed.
In Yoga, Tantra, her third eye does shine,
The Ajna Chakra, where her blessings align,
Katyayani, fierce, the bold, the strong,
In her embrace, we all belong.

Skandamātā, the fifth in the divine parade,
On Navaratri’s fifth day, her presence displayed,
Named after Skanda, the god of war and might,
Mātā, a mother’s love, pure and bright.
With four arms, three eyes, and lion’s stride,
Abhayamudra, fear she does subside,
Her son Skanda, an infant form so dear,
On her lap, she holds, to protect and steer.
Lotus flowers in hand, with grace she blooms,
Light complexioned, in her lotus throne, she looms,
Padamasani, her name, in lotus she resides,
Her love, in every heart, forever abides.
Salvation, power, prosperity, she imparts,
Treasures and wisdom, to devoted hearts,
Her grace, a radiant sun that fills the skies,
Fulfilling desires, in her devotees’ eyes.
In her presence, senses and mind align,
Free from worldly bonds, devotion’s sign,
Twice blessed, her worship is the key,
To Lord Skanda’s grace, it sets hearts free.
Selfless devotion, the path to take,
For power and prosperity, for love’s sake,
Divine splendor, her devotees shine,
In Skandamātā’s embrace, they find the divine.
The Goddess of Fire, in her fire of grace,
Leads us to salvation, in her warm embrace,
Skandamātā, a mother’s love so grand,
Guiding us to treasures, in her radiant land.

Kushmanda, the goddess with celestial might,
On Navaratri’s fourth day, in radiant light,
Her name, a fusion of energy’s embrace,
A little warmth, she brings to every space.
Ashtabhuja Devi, with eight hands so fair,
She bestows Siddhis and Niddhis with loving care,
Her creation story, of the universe’s birth,
With just her smile, she spread life’s worth.
In her love for the white pumpkin’s grace,
She’s named Kushmanda in this sacred place,
Abiding in Anahata, where hearts do sing,
Her radiant presence, a divine offering.
The source of the sun, where life takes birth,
Her energy, a gift to the entire Earth,
Balancing the universe, her cosmic design,
In the sun’s core, her power does shine.
A tale unfolds, of demons and the sun’s glow,
Mali and Sumali’s tapas, a cosmic show,
Suryadev’s curiosity, a fateful flight,
Led to their demise, in the sun’s light.
Shiva’s anger, darkness engulfed the sphere,
Loss of balance, gravity, and celestial fear,
Parvati’s grace, the sun’s renewal to find,
Creating a radiant fireball, in brilliance, aligned.
Kushmanda, the child of good deeds and light,
Emerging from ashes, her brilliance takes flight,
The keeper of the Sun, in Suryalok she resides,
Guiding the solar brilliance, where the universe abides.
Kushmanda, a symbol of cosmic design,
In her presence, the sun’s rays brightly shine,
A goddess of power, strength, and grace,
In her luminosity, the universe finds its place.
