    Chandraghanta, with moon-shaped bell-like grace,

On Navaratri’s third day, her radiant face,

Ready for battle against darkness and despair,

With her third eye open, she stands with care.

Known as Chandrakhanda, brave and true,

Chandrika, she’s hailed for all that she’ll do,

Her grace, her courage, rewards she bestows,

Sins, distress, and troubles away she throws.

In Shiva’s form, she finds her sacred place,

    Ardhanarishvara, a divine embrace,

For Parvati, marriage marked a new dawn,

Her wedding attire, a new life reborn.

Within Shiva’s cave, her love did bloom,

She swept away the cobwebs, dispelling gloom,

But a demon, Tarkasura, cast his evil eye,

On Shiva’s family, aiming for the sky.

Jatukasura, a bat-demon of dark intent,

    Attacked Kailasa, Parvati’s heart rent,

Shiv Gana pleaded for their salvation,

Parvati, empowered, took up the confrontation.

She sought the moon’s soothing, radiant glow,

To light the battlefield, where battles would flow,

The wolves, her allies, in the dimly lit night,

Fought the evil bats, seeking the light.

With ghanta in hand and a sword so keen,

    Chandraghanta fought, a fearsome scene,

Moon on her head, a wolf by her side,

In this epic battle, her courage couldn’t hide.

A goddess of valor, in darkness she’d dwell,

Conquering her fear, she fought and repelled,

Her strength, her power, in the darkest hour,

Chandraghanta’s radiance, a timeless, divine shower.

In her story, we find a message so clear,

No woman is helpless, no woman to fear,

With or without a man, courage they possess,

Chandraghanta’s story, our hearts must confess.

    Brahmacharini

In the sacred realm of learning, she resides,

    Brahmacharini, devotion her constant guide,

Second in the Navadurga’s radiant parade,

On Navaratri’s second day, her grace displayed.

Parvati, the maiden, with resolute might,

Seeks Shiva’s love, her heart’s sole delight,

Despite her parents’ pleas to change her way,

She embarks on a penance that will forever sway.

For five millennia, she endures and waits,

As love’s arrow strikes, altering their fates,

    Kamadeva’s desire ignites Shiva’s fire,

But Shiva’s third eye consumes desire’s desire.

    Undeterred, Parvati maintains her pursuit,

    Austerities, tapas, she doesn’t dispute,

She walks in Shiva’s path, matching his stride,

This phase is where Brahmacharini abides.

As Prakandasura’s demons launch their attack,

Parvati’s tapas nears its final track,

    Lakshmi and Saraswati, they intervene,

Yet outnumbered, the demons remain unseen.

Amidst the chaos, the kamandalu falls,

A deluge of might in the demon-haunted halls,

Parvati awakens, with fiery, fierce eyes,

As Prakandasura’s doom in ash quickly flies.

The universe in awe, her tapas complete,

But Shiva, his praise, he doesn’t readily greet,

In the guise of a Bhramachari, he appears,

To test her wisdom, to calm her fears.

Riddles he poses, she answers with grace,

Her intelligence shining in this divine embrace,

In his true form, Shiva reveals his face,

Parvati’s devotion, his love does embrace.

Brahmacharini’s journey, a testament of might,

In the quest for love, in passion’s endless flight,

As she breaks her tapas with Shiva’s return,

With belpatra and river water, her love does burn.

Brahmacharini, a symbol of devotion so strong,

In her pursuit of love, she truly belongs,

In the divine tapestry of life’s grand design,

Her story forever etched, a love so divine

In the tapestry of divinity, Shailaputri weaves,

A goddess whose presence eternally perceives,

From Himalayan heights to the depths of the earth,

Her spirit guides us with unending worth.

She is the dawn, the genesis of divine grace,

In her Muladhara abode, we find our place,

Crimson like the Earth, her essence so profound,

Within her, the universe’s secrets are found.

As Yogis seek the awakening of the core,

On Shailaputri’s day, they meditate and explore,

Initiating into Shakti Mantras, they aspire,

To walk the path of wisdom and higher desire.

She symbolizes Earth’s strength and foundation,

The hills, rivers, oceans, her divine narration,

Her coherent and distinct qualities combine,

In Shailputri’s embrace, Earth’s soul does shine.

She’s the spark of life in each human heart,

A reminder that from Earth, we all depart,

Shailputri, the guardian of Mother Earth’s art,

In her sacred essence, we find a fresh start.

With each step, we climb towards the divine,

In Shailputri’s presence, we brightly shine,

A goddess of power, love, and endless grace,

She’s the sacred essence that we forever embrace.
