In lands where colors blend in many ways,

Observed by eyes in a joyous gaze,

A festival of lights, a sacred phase,

Diwali arrives, in a luminous blaze.

More than a billion hearts, diverse in belief,

Gather neath the sky, where joy is chief,

Prayers whisper in the gentle night,

A celebration of triumph, a festival bright.

From prayers that rise to feasts that gleam,

Fireworks dance in the nocturnal dream,

A tapestry woven with tales untold,

Of victories grand, of stories bold.

The tales differ in each region’s lore,

Yet, a common thread, a narrative core,

Of light conquering dark, a universal theme,

    Knowledge piercing through ignorance’s seam.

In southern realms, Krishna’s valor shines,

The demon Naraka, where darkness twines,

    Imprisoned souls and tormented cries,

Defeated by light, where goodness lies.

Good over evil, the mantra sung,

In every heart, on every tongue,

    Diwali’s essence, a radiant spell,

A time to rejoice, where goodness dwells.

    New beginnings embraced, prosperity sought,

In every prayer, in every thought,

A celebration of Rama’s triumphant return,

After years of exile, the demons’ spurn.

Life lessons in the festival’s glow,

Values that flourish and virtues that grow,

Equality, a virtue from Lord Ram’s reign,

A lesson for hearts, breaking every chain.

Beware of temptations, a subtle snare,

Diwali whispers, urging hearts to beware,

Selflessness, a lantern in the night,

Guiding souls towards the path of light.

    Patience, a virtue, like a diya’s glow,

Flickering, steady, in life’s ebb and flow,

In the celebration, a truth unfolds,

Bad company, a tale Diwali scolds.

The wisdom dispels inner and outer strife,

In the radiant embrace of Diwali’s life,

Marking the New Year, a journey starts,

A time for dreams, a canvas of hearts.

Honoring Rama and Sita’s daring flight,

Escaping the demon’s clutches, a symbol of might,

Diwali, a dance of joy, a cosmic art,

A celebration etched in every heart.

In the universe, where gods and legends intertwine,

    Vishvakarma, the craftsman divine,

Architect of heavens, a celestial artisan,

In Hindu beliefs, he is a supreme craftsman.

With skilled hands, he wrought the gods’ grand chariots,

And forged their mighty weapons, palace and many others.

    Indra’s Vajra, a thunderbolt’s fierce might,

Bore the mark of Vishvakarma’s celestial light.

Linked to Surya, through his daughter’s grace,

He harnessed the sun’s energy, a wondrous chase.

From it, he crafted weapons, fierce and bold,

For gods and heroes, their stories to be told.

Cities and palaces, he built them all,

Lanka, Dvaraka, in legends they enthrall.

    Indraprastha’s splendor, the Pandavas’ throne,

By Vishvakarma’s design, they were known.

In the Ramayana, a tale of old,

Nala and Nile, with courage untold,

Sons of Vishvakarma, to Rama they’d stand,

In his divine purpose, they lent a helping hand.

A divine carpenter, a master of his trade,

For gods and mankind, his skills displayed.

Jagannatha’s great image at Puri’s shore,

    Bears Vishvakarma’s touch, forevermore.

The sciences of architecture he did share,

With mortals, secrets of craftsmanship rare.

Patron deity of artisans and artists, we hail,

Vishvakarma’s wisdom, in our hearts, prevail.

Swayambhu, creator, his title well earned,

In the universe’s design, his lessons learned.

    Dwarka’s holy city, Krishna’s domain,

In his craftsmanship, divinity would reign.

    Vishwakarma, the Divine Engineer’s name,

Whose birthday, Vishwakarma Jayanti, we acclaim.

    Craftsmen’s and architects’ guiding light,

In his honor, we celebrate with all our might.

Son of Brahma, with talents vast and wide,

He built the gods’ palaces with artistry as his guide.

In the grand tapestry of the cosmic plan,

Vishvakarma, the craftsman, a divine craftsman
