Shivas Embrace

In the temple’s glow, the chants arise,
As devotees lift their voices to the skies,
Offerings of love, fruits, and milk,
In reverence to Shiva, pure as silk.
Legends whisper tales of cosmic lore,
Of halahala swallowed, of sins no more,
With each hymn sung, each mantra told,
We seek liberation, in Shiva’s fold.
The dance of creation, preservation, and doom,
Echoes through time, dispelling the gloom,
In Shiva’s embrace, we find our peace,
As darkness fades, and anxieties cease.
So on this night, of introspection deep,
Let our souls awaken, from their sleep,
For Mahashivaratri is not just a rite,
But a journey within, towards the infinite light.
In the hush of Mahashivaratri’s sacred night,
Between the echoes of destruction and creation’s might,
We stand in the pause, the moment’s breath,
As Shiva’s dance weaves life and death.
In solemn vigils, we seek the divine spark,
To banish darkness, to kindle the light in the dark,
With prayers and fasting, we cleanse the soul,
To find within, Shiva’s eternal role.
Alone with our thoughts, our inner sword,
We face the shadows, our fears explored,
Looking within, we strive to find,
The Shiva essence, in heart and mind.
For Shiva resides not just in the cosmic dance,
But within us, in every circumstance,
To merge with the Self, is to truly see,
The divinity within, the Shiva in me.
As legends weave tales of love and might,
Of marriage vows taken on this night,
We too seek union, with the divine within,
To transcend the worldly, to shed the skin.
And as we chant the sacred hymns, we pray,
For grace and virtue to light our way,
In this dance of life, in this cosmic play,
May Shiva guide us, on this Mahashivaratri day.
